Laser quote.
We have a 1000mm X 600mm bed Laser for cutting / engraving. The Swiss designed Bodor Laser BCL- 1006X has a wide variety of functions for your design needs.
Process.
Cutting
The material is completely cut through by the laser.
Etching
The material is only cut a certain depth, leaving score marks on the surface.
Raster
A large area of the material is etched, leaving a burnt region on the surface.

How thick?
Cutting
We can cut up to 10mm wood, ply, bamboo, MDF and natural hard woods. 15mm acrylics, perspex and laminates. Please note these mesurements depend on the material.
Etching
We can etch on to wood, plastic, rubber, textile, paper, leather and glass. We are able to drop the bed down a total of 400mm so as long as your object drops in, we can etch on to it.
Raster
We can raster on to wood, plastic, rubber, textile, paper, leather and glass. We are able to drop the bed down a total of 400mm so as long as your object drops in, we can place raster images on to it.
Materials.
We're always open to experimenting and testing new materials, methods and processes when it comes to laser cutting or engraving. However, here are a few tried and tested favourites which we highly recommend. >>

Wood, ply, bamboo, MDF and natural hard woods, acrylics, perspex, Duets engraving plastic, rubber (for stamps), textile, paper, leather and glass.
Etching / Raster
Wood, ply, bamboo, MDF and natural hard woods, acrylics, perspex, Duets engraving plastic, rubber (for stamps), textile, paper, leather, glass and stone. We are also able to chemically mark metal upon request.
File format?
Our prefered file type is AI (illustrator), however other file types are also accepted such as: PDF / EPS / SVG / JPG / PNG

File colour mode: RGB
File units of measurement: mm
Drawing scale: 100%

Text tricks.
All text needs to be converted to linework for us to be able to cut, etch or raster it in Illustrator:
select text box > object > expand
Line weight.
All vector line work (for laser cutting or laser etching) should be set to
0.01pt in Illustrator
Etching tip!
Linework that is intended for etching should be no less than 1pt/0.4mm as the artwork will not show well in the finished product.
Raster tip!
Areas to be rastered in your artwork should be a solid colour: (R:0/G:0/B:255).
